Asters hide away in borders until the last days of summer when they finally burst into a frenzy of activity producing daisy-like flowers to light up your autumn garden into late November.
Attractive to butterflies and bees. Easy to grow and trouble free. Unfussy on soil conditions in sum or part shade. Fully hardy perennials. Supplied as young plants.

Additional Information

Good for borders and pots. Mulch all asters annually after cutting back in late autumn. To maintain vigour, divide every 3 years. Propagate by soft wood cutting in spring, or by divison in spring. Fully hardy perennials.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
