A wonderful Aster collection with varieties selected from the National Collection of Asters, held at Picton Gardens near Malvern, Worcestershire.

There is really no better perennials to light up your garden through the autumn, to November. 

Feathery petals in soft and vivid tones form a beautiful daisy-like shape.  Loved by butterflies and bees, your garden will be brought to life as they search for their nectar-rich feast. 
Loved by florists, Asters are excellent as cut flowers too, lasting up to 14 days. 

Trouble-free, unfussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade. Plant individually or mix together. Height 1-1.5m (40-60"). Spread 40-75cm (16-30"). Fully hardy perennials.

Additional Information

Good for borders and pots. Mulch all asters annually after cutting back in late autumn. To maintain vigour, divide every 3 years. Propagate by soft wood cutting in spring, or by divison in spring. Fully hardy perennials.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
