Posies of tiny flowers are surrounded by ruff-like bracts, making sprays of intriguing star-like blooms from May to the end of September, sometimes longer. Perfect for injecting colour in an understated manner and these new varieties have been specifically bred to flower longer than the more traditional. Excellent as dried and cut flowers. Perfect for borders and containers. Slug resistant. Prefers moist well-drained soil in part shade. Spread 30-45cm (12-18”). Fully hardy perennial.

Additional Information

Perfect for borders and containers. Dries well for arrangements. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Deadhead if you do not wish the plant to self seed. Foliage when established is slug proof. Fully hardy perennial. Bare roots take up to 6-8 weeks to appear after planting.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
