Astrantia have been cultivated in Britain since the 16th century. Roma is a slightly more vigorous variety with a much longer flowering period than some other varieties. Soft pink posies of tiny flowers surrounded by papery bracts are held on wiry stems from May to late summer. Attractive to bees and butterflies, slug and rabbit resistant. Make excellent dried flowers. Prefers moist soil in sun or part shade though will tolerate drier conditions. Height 50cm (20”). Spread 30cm (12”). Hardy perennial. Delivery April onwards.
