Begonia Citrus Sunset

Incredible rose-like flowers up to 10cm (4") across cascade in sunny shades of orange and lemon. It's no wonder that Illumination are the bestselling plants for summer colour as they remain neat and tidy whatever the weather. Compact foliage forms an even dome in a pot, or ball-shape when grown in a basket, trailing to 30cm (12").
Grow in any well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Half hardy perennial, although the tubers can be overwintered for following seasons. Supplied as large young plants in equal quantities of Illumination orange and lemon to grow separately or mix together for your own magical sunset. Supplied as young plants.

Great plant for baskets and containers. Dead head regularly to prolong flowering. Keep moist until established and throughout the growing season. Feed regularly. Keep the lifted tubers in a frost free envoronment over winter. It is possible to propagate some Begonia types by leaf cuttings or by sections of the rhizome.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
