Camellia Fairy Blush

Distinct and demure is Camellia Fairy Blush. Its compact size makes it a suitable choice for any courtyard garden. Growing only to 1.2m tall and wide it won't ever outgrow that patio pot. It long flowering (January-April) allows it to waft its satisfyingly delicious scent through the air just as most gardeners are spending a lot of time in the garden 'prepping'. Its small leaves are free from black spot, glossy and evergreen with red new growth.

Additional Information

Mulch with leaf mould or shredded bark. If planting into a container, or if your soil is not acidic use ericaceous compost. Dislikes cold, drying winds and early morning sun. Once established the plant can be trimmed or cut back lightly to improve the symmetry, accepts harsh pruning if required in late spring after flowering. Apply a balanced liquid fertiliser in the spring and summer but do not overfeed. Water established plants in dry weather to stop the buds from dropping. Protect from extended heavy freezes. Mulch to keep roots cool. Propagate by taking semi-ripe cuttings in late summer. Fully hardy perennial.

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
