Coreopsis Madras Magic

Coreopsis Madras Magic boasts bright and flamboyant blooms with striking two-toned colour, shifting from a deep shade of red that gently fades to pale pink on each petal tip. Each flower adorns slender stems and grass-like feathery foliage, creating glorious undulating mounds of colour and texture throughout the summer and early autumn.
Makes the perfect addition to mixed beds and borders or alternatively within containers. Plants are easy to maintain and retain a neat and tidy habit. Prefers well-drained soil in sun. Height 35-40cm (14-16”). Spread 50cm (20”). Hardy perennial.

Apply a generous layer of mulch during the colder months to preserve moisture levels and to protect the roots from frost. Coreopsis are relatively drought tolerant, however they should still be watered during sustained periods of drought. Deadhead to prolong flowering and prune back the stems during autumn so they are just above the soil level. Hardy perennial.

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
