Coronilla varia


This herbaceous perennial offers six months of carefree flowering from June to November and creates a relaxed and informal ambience.
Perfectly suited for a mid-front of border location, varia’s low growing, scrambling habit is crowned with glaucous-green, pinnate leaves and magnificent bi-coloured whorls of highly
fragrant flowers.
Happiest in full sun in any soil.

Scented flowers. Evergreen foliage. Once established, leggy plants can be cut back to the base to rejuvenate. Pruning group 1.Lightly trim the shoots of Coronilla after flowering. This can be undertaken in April or May. Although Coronilla can survive throughout the winter months, their life span can be relatively short and so you may wish to take cuttings from young shoots in June or July. Fully hardy perennial.

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
