Cosmos bipinnatus Rubenza


Bursting with energy, enthusiastically flowering their hearts out all summer long, straining to become the best bloomer in the border before the season's end, but that isn’t the end of the show. Collect the seeds to raise plants for subsequent years. Prefer well-drained soil in sun or part shade.
Ruby red blooms mature to stunning rose red. Height 75cm (30"). Spread 30cm (12").

Pretty ferny foliage. Dead head regularly to prolong flowering. Any flowerheads left on will self seed. Propagate by sowing seed in mid spring. Half hardy annual.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
