Darmera peltata AGM

Used extensively by Tom Stuart-Smith in his “best in show” 2008 Chelsea garden and we can see why. In late spring clusters of starry pink flowers emerge before the leaves, to be held high on strong stems up to 1.5m (60”) tall. Each leaf then unfurls to create a rounded disc up to 60cm (24”) across, an impressive sight for moist soil or marginal planting. In autumn the foliage turns attractive red before dying back for the winter. Height 150cm (60”). Spread 100cm (40”). Prefers moist soil in sun or part shade. Hardy perennial.
