Additional Information

The plants when fully grown may need staking for support. In growth water all plants freely, applying a liquid fertiliser every 3-4 weeks. Dead-head by cutting back spent flowers spikes back to small flowering side shoots. Cut back all growth to the ground level after it has withered in the autumn. All parts may cause severe discomfort if eaten and contact with foliage may irritate skin. Propagate by sowing seed in the spring. Hardy perennial. Young plants are attractive to slugs, may need protection until bigger.

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
