Digitalis (Foxglove) Silver Fox

Stunning silver, hairy, evergreen foliage forms rosettes beneath the silvery stems that hold many white, spotted blooms from June to July/August. Attractive to bees and butterflies. Unfussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade. Height 70cm (28"). Spread 25cm (10"). Hardy perennial. Supplied as young plants.

Cut back main flower spike as it fades to encourage a second flowering.Contact with foliage may irritate skin. All parts if ingested will cause severe discomfort. Propagate by sowing the seeds in a cold frame in late spring. Half hardy perennial.

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
