Known as ‘Yang Tonic’ in Asian medical communities because of the warm almost euphoric effect it has on the body. The leaves can be used in tea or chewed as they do in the East. Evergreen ‘Bishops Mitre’ shaped leaves, tinted red in spring and autumn, form a dome beneath starry bright orange cup-shaped flowers with yellow centres that appear in the spring. Rabbit resistant. Prefers moist soil in shade. Height 50cm (20”) spread 75cm (30”). Hardy perennial.
