Exceptionally large heads of prickly lilac-blue flowers upon strong bright blue stems which contrast well against the silvery-green foliage.

A wonderful plant to add texture to your summer borders.

Stunning as cut or dried flowers. Rabbit resistant but attractive to bees and butterflies. Drought tolerant. Prefers well-drained soil in sun. Height & spread 60-80cm (24-32"). Fully hardy perennial.

Rabbit resistant. Protect from winter wet. Propagate in spring by division although they are slow to re-establish. Deadhead Eryngium during the autumn and encourage further flowering by pinching the ends. Fully hardy perennial. Bare roots take up to 6-8 weeks to appear after planting.

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
