Erysimum Bowles Mauve AGM


A must have for every garden! Named after the amateur botanist and horticulturist Edward Augustus Bowles this perennial wallflower has handsome grey green semi-evergreen foliage. Large clusters of scented purple blooms appear in late winter and continue throughout the summer, and sometimes into winter in milder areas. Good for cutting. Attractive to bees. Deer resistant. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 75cm (30”). Spread 40cm (16”). Hardy perennial.

Fragrant. Attractive to bees and butterflies.Trim plant after flowering to prevent becoming leggy. Erysimum are intolerant to long periods of winter wet and strong winds as this will cause wind-rock and neck-rot. Slug resistant. Propagate by nodal or softwood cuttings in spring or summer. Fully hardy perennial.

And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)
