Filipendula rubra Venusta Magnifica (Meadowsweet)


Looking just like a giant candy floss. Slender branching red stems produce a frothy myriad of small pink flowers that fade to paler pink during July and August. last well as a cut flower and great for drying. prefers moist but well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 1.2-1.5m (4-5'). Spread 60-90cm (24-36"). Fully hardy perennial. Supplied as bare roots plants from March Onwards.

Additional Information

Great for border, cottage garden situations and wildflower meadows. Propagate by division in spring or take root cuttings and place horizontally in seed trays from late winter to early spring. Cut back after flowering. Fully hardy perennial. Bare roots take up to 6-8 weeks to appear after planting.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
