Geranium Collection

A unique collection of fully hardy geraniums which will weave a tapestry of colour this year. Margery Fish created a garden at East Lambrook Manor and used to say “when in doubt plant a geranium”. We agree, as they are incredibly floriferous, one of the easiest plants to grow, attractive to bees yet unpalatable to rabbits and slugs. Create undulating pillows of colour for groundcover or plant individually. Unfussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade. Heights range between 25-80cm (10-32") and spreads 35-60cm (14-24"). Supplied as mature bare roots, individually marked with exact height and spread.

Additional Information

As a young plant, the root system rather than the top growth dictates the quality of plant that you have received. Once the plant has been potted on for about 6-8 weeks, we suggest that you cut back the top growth to 3cm with a pair of scissors. This allows the roots to mature in the new pot and a perfect flush of foliage with reappear. Propagate by division in the spring. Fully hardy perennial.

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
