Additional Information

Excellent as a dried flower. Prune in spring as new shoots appear. Propagate by softwood cuttings in early summer or hardwood cuttings in winter. Try to use rainwater to water, since mains hard water can affect the flower colour, turning blue flowers mauve or pink. Apply a mulch to protect from excessive winter cold. Fully hardy perennial.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
