Hypericum (Rose of Sharon) Magical Beauty

Overlook Hypericum no more! With such berrying potential, Magical Beauty has become one of our favourites. A profusion of small bright yellow blooms appear in early summer, smothering the semi-evergreen foliage. An abundance of eye-catching peach, pink and yellow berries follow in July, finally changing gradually to black by late Autumn to continue giving months of interest. Perfect for smaller gardens. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height and spread 90cm (36”). Fully hardy perennial.

Additional Information

Mulch with wood chips or similar material to help retain moisture levels and discourage any weeds from budding around your new growth. Please ensure the mulch is kept away from the main base of the plant as this can cause damage and decay. Unless the ground is naturally low in nutrients, there should be no further requirement to feed. It is recommended to maintain a consistent watering regime if conditions become dry. Propagate by semi-hardwood cuttings. Hardy perennial.

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
