Kirengeshoma palmata


As described by Carol Klein, this is a once-seen-never-forgotten plant is perfect for autumn garden. From September deep-maroon, arching stems with intermittent, green and palmately lobed leaves display sprays of tubular, sherbet-lemon yellow flowers which arch over as if they’re nodding and resemble yellow trumpets.
Thriving in the darkest corner of the garden, this plant loves boggy fertile conditions where its magnificent 1.2m tall slender-stems and basal clumping habit can be viewed in all its glory. Increasing in girth every year its ideal for mid- to back of border location.
Feed with leaf mulch and well-rotted compost every year to stimulate stunning floral displays and a healthy vigour.
