A cottage garden favourite to tempt bees and butterflies.
Numerous strong stems hold vivid,open-mouthed blooms above lush adrk bronze-green foliage from mid-summer to mid-autumn. Excellent as cut flowers. Deer and rabbit resistant. prefer damp soil in sun or part shade, but will tolerate drier conditions.
Height 60-75cm (24-30"). Spread 30-45cm (12-18"). Fully hardy perennials supplied as young plants.

Attractive to bees and butterflies. Great for borders and containers. All parts if ingested cause severe discomfort. Propagate by division in spring. Hardy perennial.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
