Passiflora racemosa AGM

A striking evergreen climber, native to Brazil, with pendulous clusters of large, showy, red flowers that reach around 30cm or more in length throughout the summer and the autumn. Each individual bloom is bowl shaped and around 12cm (5”) across. Green, narrowly ovoid fruits around 7cm long follow in late autumn. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 4.8m (16’). Half hardy perennial.

Pruning should be undertaken once the flowering period has finished. Apply a balanced fertiliser during early spring. Water your plants thoroughly throughout active growth, especially during periods of drought, decreasing the volume of water needed during the winter. Requires winter protection in colder areas.Half Hardy perennial.

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
