Also known as foxglove trees, Paulownia are perfect statement specimens and are rarely seen in UK gardens. 

In spring, fragrant foxglove-like blooms appear along stems before the leaves emerge. With leaves measuring up to a foot across, this plant is perfect for creating a tropical influence without the hassle of growing exotics. Prefers well-drained soil in sun. Height & spread 10m (33’). Hardy perennial.

Additional Information

Flower buds must be protected from frosts, to ensure that they fully bloom. Can be pollarded in order restrict the height and to shape the plant. Hardy perennial.

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
