There are more than 900 species of Salvia, originating in the rocky soils of Mexico. The word Salvia is derived from the Latin ‘salvere’ meaning to ‘to save’ as it has been used medicinally for centuries.
Beautiful open mouthed blooms adorn sage scented foliage from spring to autumn, wonderful planted near a path or seat where the fragrance will be released when the foliage disturbed. Prefers well drained soil in sun. Height 60-90cm (24-36”). Spread 60cm (24”). Hardy perennial.
