Snowdrop (Galanthus) nivalis and nivalis Flore Pleno

Snowdrops are loved by everyone.   There is always great delight when they appear in the depths of winter. Perfect planted under shrubs or in borders where they will quickly grow to form dense clumps, alternatively they are happy left to naturalise in a lawn.

Your collection comprises;
Galanthus nivalis - Common Snowdrop
Galanthus nivalis - nivalis Flore Pleno

Height 15cm (6"). Hardy bulbous perennials.

Buying bulbs ‘in the green’
In the green means that the plants are delivered in spring, whilst they are growing.
For some plants it is a much more reliable way of achieving success than planting dry bulbs in the autumn.

Bulbs ‘in the green’ should be planted soon after arrival. If this is not possible maybe because of frozen ground they should be planted into pots.
The bulb should be planted submerged below ground level, with the green foliage exposed above soil level.

Additional Information

Bulbs ?in the green? should be planted soon after arrival. If this is not possible maybe because of frozen ground they should be planted into pots. The bulb should be planted submerged below ground level, with the green foliage exposed above soil level. It is natural for the foliage to be a little crumpled after transport, it will soon turn yellow and the plant will die back ready to emerge next spring. Propagate by division in February/March

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
