Additional Information

Attractive to bees and butterflies. Weigela will need to be pruned to neaten its overall shape and size. Also remove old, damaged and dead wood to improve your shrubs vigour for the following year. Once established, Weigela will tolerate hard pruning. Fertilise your shrubs once a year by applying a balanced plant food in winter as this will promote better spring blooms. Propagate Weigela by softwood or semi-hardwood cuttings during early summer or hardwood cuttings during late autumn or winter. Fully hardy perennial

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
