Much admired by passers by, my Indian Bean tree has been in my little front garden for nearly 15 years now. It even survived -19oC last winter.
Young red leaves in spring become large lime green and heart shaped in summer and form a gently domed canopy. In July and August panicles of beautiful white trumpet shaped flowers nestle against the foil from which long green bean pods usually follow.
So easy to grow. Not fussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade. Eventual height 10m (30’) though mine has only got to around 15’ in all these years. Hardy perennial.
