  Centaurea cyanus 10 young plants

Current garden design trends include an element of conservation, this beautiful cornflower is now endangered in it’s natural habitat, having declined from 264 to just 3 sites in the last 50 years. You may not have room for a wild flower meadow but you can still protect this plant by growing amongst perennials or in a container. The amazing blue flowers were once worn by young men in love, if the flower faded quickly it was a sign that his love was unrequited. Easy to grow, flowering all summer, attractive to bees and butterflies. Lasts well in a vase and holds colour well when dried. Prefers well drained soil in sun or part shade. Height 90cm (36“). Spread 30cm (12“). Hardy annual.
