Cypripedium flavum and kentuckiense

It takes two to three years to raise a plant in a 5cm pot and possibly another two years to fully appreciate the incredible flowers. The beauty will more than justify the time spent in anticipation as the flowers are held high on upright stems. Suitable for a shady rock or woodland garden. Can be divided once established. Prefers damp soil in part shade. Hardy perennial. Delivery May onwards.

Cypripedium flavum A famous and rare alpine slipper orchid.
Flowers appear in April - June, each is up to 9cm long with a spotted creamy yellow lip and light yellow petals. Height 45cm (18”). 

and Cypripedium kentuckiense The Kentucky Ladies slipper orchid, with the largest flower of the Cypripedium family.
Flowering in May and June, greenish petals and sepals are striped and mottled with purple, while the pouch is creamy yellow. Height 70cm (28”).
