Cypripedium kentuckiense

The Kentucky ladies Slipper Orchid, one of the largest flowers of the Cypripedium family.
It takes two to three years to raise a plant in a 5cm pot and possibly another two years to fully appreciate the incredible flowers. The beauty will more than justify the time spent in anticipation as the flowers with mottled purple and white pouches are held high on upright stems during May and June.
Suitable for a shady rock or woodland garden. Can be divided once established. Prefers damp soil in part shade. Height 70cm (28"). Hardy perennial.
