Dahlia Karma Choc

Brand new for 2009.  Sumptuous velvety dark red almost black water lily like blooms up to 5" across, grow on strong dark stems with dark chocolaty foliage, and the flowers are also chocolate scented, almost good enough to eat.  Having visited the Dahlia trials in Holland, the Karma Choc stood out and was definitely our favourite.  Modern Dahlia varieties can be left in the ground over winter in well drained soil or grown in large pots and buried into the border, the pot then lifted and kept in a shed or garage until the following spring.
Prefers well drained soil in sun.  Height 90cm (36").  Spread 60-75cm (24-30").  Tuberous perennial.
