The name stems from the Greek for ‘desert tail’ referring to both the origins of the flower and to its shape. Hundreds of tiny star shaped flowers appear on each spike in early summer and gradually open from the bottom to the tip giving more than a hint of a fox’s brush. Prefers well-drained soil in full sun. Winter cold is needed to induce flowering. Height 150cm (60”). Spread 60cm (24”). A mix of deep copper, yellow, salmon and candy pink flowers. Hardy perennial.
