Famous gardener Margery Fish was once asked for the secret of gardening.  She answered “The secret is, when in doubt plant a geranium!” and we agree.  Hardy Geraniums are one of the easiest plants to grow and give so much back.  Amazingly floriferous, great groundcover, slug and rabbit resistant, attractive to bees and not fussy on soil conditions in sun or part shade. 

Geraniums were brought to Britain in the 16th century and quickly became the mainstay of the English garden.  There is at least one for every garden, tall or short.  Not to confused with pelargoniums, which don't survive outdoors in winter.  Slug and rabbit resistant, great ground cover and not fussy on soil conditions.  Hardy perennial.

Geranium Sabini-Blue  Large dark blue, veined, flowers with a paler eye, long flowering. Height & spread 40cm (16”).           
Geranium wallichianum Crystal Lake  Large crystal blue flowers with dark veining from July to October.  Height 50cm (20”).  Spread 60-80cm (24-32”).  
Geranium phaeum ‘Samobor’  Purple brown blooms during summer over green leaves with brown markings.  Height 60cm (24”).  Spread 45cm (18”). Geranium cinereum Purple Pillow  Deep purple flowers, blue green foliage.  Foliage red purple in autumn.  Height 15cm (6”).  Spread 30cm (12”).       
Geranium Salome  Dark violet flowers with black eye.  Height 25cm (10”).  Spread 90cm (36”).     
Geranium pratense Akton  White flowers with mauve markings.  Height & spread 60-90cm (24-36”).
