Helleborus bring a magical touch to the garden during the winter whilst most other plants slumber. It continues to flower well into the spring and looks stunning alone and even more spectacular when planted amongst daffodils. The large cup shaped darkest blue flowers have a dainty appearance that defy nature by surviving the cold. The glossy dark green evergreen foliage highlights the true beauty of the dappled flower. The Cornish refer to helleborus as 'The virgins mantle'. In medieval times they were said to be good for breaking bad spells and curses so were often planted next to the front door. Today they are known for their unsurpassed winter beauty, preferring dappled shade with moist but well drained soil and are deer and rabbit resistant. Height & spread 35cm (14"). Hardy perennial.
