Helleborus bring a magical touch to the garden during the winter whilst most other plants slumber. The large cup shaped flowers have a dainty appearance that defy nature by surviving the cold. The glossy dark green evergreen foliage highlights the true beauty of the dappled flower. The Cornish refer to helleborus as 'The virgins mantle'. In medieval times they were said to be good for breaking bad spells and curses so were often planted next to the front door. Today they are known for their unsurpassed winter beauty, preferring dappled shade with moist but well drained soil and are deer and rabbit resistant. Height & spread 35cm (14"). Hardy perennial. Delivery May 2008. One each of; Red Lady, Pink Lady, White Spotted Lady, Yellow Lady and Blue Metallic Lady.
