Seductively fragrant in the evening with clouds of delicious scent, though curiously, the beautiful spikes of flowers are fragrance free during the day, which may explain why, in the language of flowers, hesperis was given to mean deceit. Flowering during spring and early summer, they attract butterflies, are very tolerant of poor soils, and great for borders and containers in well drained soil in sun or part shade. Height & spread 50cm (20"). Hardy perennial.
