So named after the semi-precious gemstone which is formed by volcanic lava coming into contact with water, the foliage of this plant is just as black with a smooth polished glassy effect. Remains tidy and compact and looks amazing when planted with brightly coloured blooms in pots or in the border. Dainty white flowers appear in July and August. Prefers sun or part shade. Height 60cm (24”). Spread 35cm (14”). Hardy perennial.
