Penstemon Ice Cream

The youngsters of the penstemon world, many were introduced in 2007, while Vanilla Plum and Sweet Cherry are new for 2008 . These plants have been specifically bred to produce much larger flowers than usual. We are still trying to find out if the breeder named them Ice Cream as they look good enough to eat or because the flowers resemble miniature ice cream cones. Great for containers too due to remaining compact and growing to a height and spread of 45-60cm (18-24”).
