An amazing breakthrough in the breeding of Penstemon. The flowers are double the size you would normally expect, yet the foliage is neat and compact. You really have to see the plants to believe how gorgeous they actually are. We are not quite sure why they were named Ice Cream Penstemon, but we have several theories – the flowers resemble miniature ice cream cones or perhaps it is because the flower colours look good enough to eat, or our best theory of all – that they really are the coolest plant around! They grow to height and spread of 18-24”, flower from June to November and have all the usual attributes of Penstemon in that they are easy to grow, trouble-free, flower for six months of the year, are slug-resistant and hardy!
