Also known as Montbretia, the name Crocosmia now comes from the Greek ‘Krokos’ meaning saffron and ‘osme’ meaning smell as when rubbed the leaves give a scent of saffron. Flowering for several months from summer to autumn. Trouble free, easy to grow, slug and rabbit resistant and good for cutting. Prefers well-drained soil in sun or partial shade.
