Penstemon

Penstemon were once used by Native Americans to relieve toothache but were not described scientifically until the entry by John Mitchell in 1748. Flowering for up to six months of the year, Penstemon are resistant to slugs and other pests but attractive to bees, oblivious of drought and rain, they thrive in most soil conditions in containers or borders, in sun or part shade and propagate so painlessly.
