Bees, Butterflies & Ladybird Collection

This collection comprises of;
One Butterfly Habitat and Butterfly Food with Vitamins and one Ladybird Tower with Ladybird Food Attractant.

Butterfly Habitat
In summer use the habitat as a butterfly feeder with the feeding tray folded down to allow butterfly food and sweet ripe fruit to be served to your butterflies. Feeding is especially effective in early spring and late summer when natural nectar is scarce. You should see butterflies drinking from the feeding cups. In winter the tray can be folded up and inside there are slotted wooden cartridges which make a cosy over-wintering home for non-migratory butterflies. Site the butterfly habitat out of prevailing winds in a sunny, sheltered position.

Butterfly Food with Vitamins
A laboratory formulated blend of food provides a valuable source of nectar for butterflies at times when there are few flowers available. Specially formulated to ensure the sugars do not crystallise in the stomach of the insect, which can be a risk with simple sugar solutions.
Ladybird Food Attractant
The easy way to encourage ladybirds into your garden, to overwinter in your ladybird tower, or any other insect hotel in your garden. The food is most effective applied in autumn, at the entrance holes or the face of the overwintering tubes.
Ladybird Tower
Ladybirds are beneficial garden predators and eat a wide variety of pest species such as aphids, scale insects, mealy bugs etc. It is estimated that one ladybird may eat over 4000 aphids in its life.
This ladybird shelter is cleverly constructed to provide a hollow central chamber filled with straw to provide insulation and security for all who visit. Access to the central chamber is provided by paths drilled through the sides of the log. Made from natural air-dried FSC
certified timber logs. Comes complete with a ground pole to allow the ladybird tower to be sited into lawns, sheltered flower beds, wooded glades or even in planters.

Plant Hardiness

How hardy are our plants?

All our plants have a guideline temperature for how well they will tolerate winter cold.

Fully hardy perennials will withstand temperatures down to -15 °C (5°F) and often lower.
Hardy perennials are happy down to at least -5°C (23°F)
Half hardy perennials can withstand down to around 0°C (32°F)
And Tender perennials may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41°F)

Please remember that temperatures can vary significantly within quite a small area, and hardiness can be affected by soil, position and other factors.
If in doubt please give us a call.

"Thank you ladies for your beautiful plants.
Praise also, for the Bulrush Compost, of which I have purchased 8 bags during the past six months. It is superb and my garden has flourished.
Bless you,
Kind wishes"
